Dynamic LED lighting simulations lead you one step ahead of reality!
Architectural lighting requires in many cases not only the proper luminaries, but also the expertise to facilitate the achievement of an intelligent building illumination. Due to the fact that architectural lighting design is not such a new field, but only recently has known what one may call a "boost", new lighting technologies are required to fulfil clients' requirements according to a particular budget.
The lighting technologies used for architectural illumination are incandescence, fluorescence and, most recently, SSL (solid state lighting). Incandescence is not very efficient when it comes to energy consumption, heat emission, choice of colours, life span and so on. Fluorescence is much better and neon tubes are still the most used luminaries when it comes to building illumination, railing and accent lighting. But the mercury inside the tubes is a potentially dangerous component causing pollution and the UV emission is definitely not recommended for the environment. Plus such light sources have another polluting aspect and that is noise.
SSL is a growing technology and LED lighting products are wining territory over the traditional light sources. This happens due to the advantages LED lights possess, advantages related to energy efficiency, power consumption, choice of colours, control, environment friendliness, operating temperatures, turn on times, dimming options and much more. Please read our "LEDs Real Advantages" article for more information.
With these few aspects clarified, we do consider LED light sources a very good choice for architectural lighting. The main reason is that by choosing LED fixtures one chooses flexible means to achieve the intelligent building illumination we were speaking about. For instance each building part can get a different lighting concept incorporated into the architectural design. LED products are flexible, controllable and easy to insert in tiny places. They are ideal light sources for hidden lights, backlighting, railing, accent light, or any other applications where a "special touch" is required. Their size is small therefore LEDs can be mounted in any possible way to create incredible luminaries. Architectural lighting design uses mostly LED stripes, LED tubes (for neon replacement), LED spots and LED wall washers, but it can also use other LED lamps, with special shapes: LED tiles to illuminate walls, floors and ceilings or special LED lamps to emphasize a room: LED light spheres, LED light cubes, LED light eggs, LED light pyramids and so on. With so many choices it is rather difficult to decide randomly. One needs to see how a project may look like. Lighting simulations are there to solve this problem and they are an integrated service in the lighting project development and design.

my-tronic Ledon's lighting designers will use different tools to simulate special light effects that can be achieved with LEDs in order to give the clients an optimum understanding about the complexity of a certain project. my-tronic Ledon understands the consequence of light in the modern society and in humans' lives. Light is a very important mood giver, and its role it is not reduced only at illumination. As a therapy mean, artificial light is constantly studied, and new light sources are developed to fulfil such tasks. This is why lighting simulations are not designated for architectural lighting design only, but also for lighting analyses and light research (for instance the use of lighting in a building - how it will affect the ambience or for plant farming - how pulsing affects the growing).

At the beginning of the project the client can decide (according to his budget) if he wants a lighting simulation. my-tronic Ledon recommends such a service, but, due to the fact that lighting simulations require time and effort, the company doesn't force it into the projects. A written description of the available effects is offered at the start of the project and if the customer wants, a lighting simulation can be done also later, at any stage of the design. Samples of the LED light sources are also available from the start - the client can actually see the effects, but not the "ensemble" picture, which only a simulation can create. The LED lighting simulation service is an integrated part of our lighting consulting services.
LED Lighting Simulations Applications:
- Exhibition design - special LED effects and colour flows to emphasize new products;
- Shop and restaurant decoration - lights ca be real eye-catchers in malls, supermarkets, cosmetic saloons, summer gardens - a new attractive world for your clients!
- Interior design and architectural lighting - the controllable LED lighting systems offer lots of choices for hotels, pools, offices, residence, corporate buildings;
- Furniture accents - living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms... anywhere there's a need of emphasis;
- Lighting planning - outline the on/off times, intensity, colour and more - for indoor or outdoor applications;
- Stage and mass media design - creating a virtual show to demonstrate how the LED light sources operate.
Dynamic LED lighting simulations lead you one step ahead of reality, as you will the light's expressions from the very beginning and you will also be able to settle on the very effects you desire.
Many light designers and architects have asked for light simulations already. Here you can find a few examples. Please note that these are just samples, not necessarily realized projects. As many of our projects are now in role we will not post any information related to an unfinished one online. In time real life examples will be added on this page and in our photo and video galleries.
