LED Applications: Landscape Lighting
LEDs Redefine Architectural Landscape Lighting
Outdoor Illumination Has Never Been Easier and More Economical
Low voltage landscape lighting was a few years ago an ideal. Today, with the extraordinary development of LEDs and the introduction of the LED lighting concept, there's nothing more natural than to add a dramatic dimension to landscapes with LED light sources. Landscape illumination is not solely about beautification, but also about giving a sense of security while increasing night vision.
LED landscape lighting has the advantage of being economic and versatile. A color changing light source is a better eye catcher than a static luminary. You can use color changing LED lights to create light accents in gardens or terraces. Some special areas, such as entrances and walkways need proper illumination to eliminate shadows - brighter LEDs are needed for such landscaping purposes. Landscape lighting should be used in limited, subtle ways. Christmas is beautiful, but yet, it's not Christmas everyday. So don't overdo it! Don't transform what should be an art into a cheap kitsch! If you are not sure about your landscape lighting design, you can always ask the advice of a professional lighting consultant. my-tronic Ledon offers you this possibility as well: just fill in our inquiry form.
When LED landscape lighting is required to enhance the surroundings of a building or to beautify a bridge, the process is called architectural landscape lighting.
Architectural landscape lighting, as outdoor lighting in general, requires special solutions and light sources adapted for outdoor use. For this purpose my-tronic Ledon provides LED light sources with a higher protection class, starting from IP 65 to IP 68, depending on where you need to employ them. On request my-tronic Ledon provides IP 68 LED spots and LED tubes for underwater use (in swimming pools or ponds). Other outdoor LED light sources need a lower protection class - IP 65 will be enough to safeguard your landscape lights against rain and other dangerous meteorological conditions.
